Tech Week Remix 38 – CES 2012

without comments

Lyrics:

Tech Overload! Out in Las Vegas
with Rev3, covering that CES 2012
the out now’s, the hope mights
the smartphones, 8K
the hype, and the prototypes

Like the samsung dual view tv
one screen, but two shows people can see
with a special pair of glasses you switch the program
so I can watch doctor who and you can play Aquaman

Makerbot moves to be more consumer
with less assembly required than you’re used to
Belkin stepped in with home automation
The WeMo Wi with smartphone operation

Timberlake announces myspaceTv
with panasonic bringing social to your HD
via viera connect
Comment and tweet about what’s showing on this new service

Sharp brought the crazy HD display
the insane 85 inch 8k
Resolution so high it’s criminal
at 6 times hd With 32 million pixels

And LG made me a believer in 3D
with their massive array of LCDs
showing off their innovative technology
I’d wear those dumb glasses, it looks fantastic

Tech Week Remix 37 – Xperia Play, Droid Bionic, Bartz out at Yahoo, Google gets Zagat

without comments

Lyrics:

September 18th, Xperia Play 4G
hits stores for AT&T
The PSP Phone running Android 2.3.3
50 bucks, if you cop that with a contract

Yahoo lets Carol Bartz go
but raised dust when they did over the phone
Verizon dropped the Driod Bionic, finally
the dual core 1ghz, 4G

camera 8 megapixels, get it subsidized
2 year (data) plan, 299.99
To improve local restaurant reviews
Google acquires Zagat to infuse

maps with info, cause everybody knows they know a lot
about the best spots to eat, travel and shop
under her division so she was pleased to announce
as a haiku Marissa Mayer tweeted out

Delightful deal done; Zagat and Google now one; foodies have more fun!

Tech Week Remix 36 – Steve Jobs resigns, iPhone 5 & Sprint, Google settles with US Gov

without comments

Lyrics:

Apple’s Steve Jobs resigns as CEO
COO Tim Cook steps into the role
Jobs siting his inability to perform duties
declining health, but stays on as an employee

and chairman of the board
Marking the end of an era that could never be ignored
With IPhone 5 hitting Sprint mid-October
An all things d source verifies the rumor

MakerBot maker of 3D printers
raises 10,000,000 from assorted venturers
Twitter wrapping links in t.co
taking credit for traffic and keeping stats on the flow

And Angie’s list files for it’s IPO
And a US attorney say Larry Page would know
about Google’s approval of ads from foreign pharmacies
to the US. Paid the fine, put it to rest

Tech Week Remix 33 – Twilio goes VoIP, Fox gets stingy, Mango goes RTM and the VP8 patent pool

without comments

Twilio, Dev tool for voice and SMS
conference calls, equips sites with customer service
Adds voice over IP
and whether VoIP to phone or VoIP to VoIP
calls are quarter of a penny

Beginning August 15th Fox declares
none of their shows to web, day after air
They want you to wait eight days
pshaw! I’ll get my Fringe fix in other ways

Mango update goes RTM
the first major update to Windows Phone Seven
Slated for release this Fall
Improved multi-tasking, better browsing and all

Video codec for Google’s webM
VP8′s openness open to debate
MPEG LA called out to those who hold patents
Compiled a list, but saying who’s on it they haven’t

And I’d just like to say
Happy belated System Admin Day

Tech Week Remix 32 – Amazon Tablet, Spotify, New MacBook Airs

without comments

An android tablet to come from amazon
This October, you know the heat is on
To be about 9 inches with no camera
Without that i hope they undercut the iPad

The UK based music streaming service
Spotify finally hits the US
Rolling out invites beginning on thursday
Free monthly tier, 20 hours of play
Of whatever you want, all the majors on board
for $10, go mobile and you lose ad support

And there’s a $5 plan, where you don’t have ads,
But you don’t get access with mobile apps
In apple news, New MacBook airs are coming
word on the street is later next week

And Reuters reports
TSMC becomes a vendor
for Apple Arm Chips, weening off of Samsung
Probably for all the drama that their legal team brung

Not to mention that their mobile hardware rocks

Tech Week Remix 31 – Netflix Price Increase

without comments

yesterday, Netflix lost some fans
splitting up their streaming and DVD plans
Instead of 10 for both, now it’s 8 for each
so to keep them both would mean a $4 increase
And at 8, it’s still just one DVD at a time
the streaming service is getting better overtime
but, it ain’t that nice to start forcing a shift
when a lot of what I want to stream, I still can’t get
starts now for new members, 9/1 for old
now come on Netflix, don’t be so cold
